All Nations Weekly Update – February 23rd, 2022

Richard Green   -

Hi there All Nations Family,

How are you this week?

I enjoyed the service on Sunday – It is always good to hear a preach which is totally gospel.  You have to be born again – There isn’t a ‘kind of’ gospel or different gospels – It is black and white. Jesus is the way.  Not watered down, not changed but concentrated….the same as it has always been.  You can read something from a hundred years ago or sing an old  hymn  the truth is always the truth.

In Galatians 2:10 when Paul is explaining about when he met the apostles, after having been sent off to preach the Word for years,

“All they asked was that we remembered the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along.” – Galatians 2:10

Do we remember the poor? How do we remember the poor?

I had an interesting Tuesday this week – By the way , I love Tuesdays as this is when we have staff prayer.
I missed the beginning as I had a visitor and I was helping with some form filling. This started as an admin task and very soon became a lesson from God. I often don’t know the story behind people but this was different.

By the time I had finished and joined the staff prayer I felt broken as I got to know the layers of this person’s story. One of the things that was said was – During Covid there were only 5 people coming into church for Sunday Face to Face Lunch – I was chosen as one of the five! I felt quite special!

This person was lonely, hungry, had health problems, had children taken into care, had lost his wife in tragic circumstances and was still standing!

As a staff team, we prayed for the person – Richard brought him in so we could all pray. God sent him in for prayer I am sure.

Father – help us! Soften our hearts for the poor – poor economically, poor in spirit. Help us bring a gentle word –

“Kind words are like honey – sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” – Proverbs 16:24

Help us bring the light of Jesus into the lives of those we come into contact with.
Father, I pray our words will result also in actions to bring about change in people’s lives.

In Jesus name,
Amen
