The Alpha Course

Questions About Faith? Ask at Alpha.

Alpha is a place to ask the big questions of life. We get together, watch a series of episodes that explore the basics of the Christian faith, and then we talk about it. It's a safe space to discuss, and ask questions you might have been afraid to ask before. Nothing's off the table.

Who Is It For?

Great question. The Alpha Course is really for anyone who's looking to explore Christianity for the very first time, for those who aren't sure God even exists, for new Christians who still have questions - and anyone in between.

It doesn't matter if you've never stepped foot in a church before, or if you've been a Christian for years - everyone is welcome to come along. We often have guests from all kinds of walks of life, and literally anyone is welcome.

How Does the Course Work?
How Does the Course Work?

The course is based around small, weekly groups, hosted by one or two leaders whose role is to facilitate and encourage discussion. The course runs for 11 weeks.

There’s a short film to start with, which looks at a different aspect of the Christian faith each week. This is then followed by a time of discussion in the groups, where everyone is welcome to contribute, ask questions and discuss with the rest of the group. The emphasis is on exploration and discovery in a relaxed and informal environment. There’s usually food, too!

What Do We Talk About?
What Do We Talk About?

All sorts – and this is probably the most important part of Alpha. We’ll learn about and discuss topics like “Who Is Jesus?”, “Why Did Jesus Die?”, “How Can I Have Faith?”, and loads more. There’s no obligation to say anything if you’d rather just listen, but we really encourage conversation.

It’s all about asking the hard questions, discovering who Jesus really is, and what you mean to Him.
